Honoring Terry Fox’s resilience and determination at Sikh Academy’s Terry Fox Run, where his spirit inspires every step we take.
Terry Fox’s legacy endures as a symbol of incredible resilience and determination. Diagnosed with bone cancer at a young age, Fox embarked on the Marathon of Hope in 1980, aiming to run across Canada to raise funds for cancer research. Despite losing a leg to the disease, he ran an average of 26 miles a day, capturing the hearts of Canadians and people worldwide. Though his journey was cut short, his spirit lived on through the Terry Fox Foundation, which has raised millions for cancer research. Fox’s courage and selflessness continue to inspire and mobilize individuals to fight against cancer and strive for a cure.

Steve Harmer is a Professional Educator (former Principal) and Professional Magician and entertainer. He left the Calgary Board of Education 18 years ago to pursue a dream. He has chosen to combine his skills as an educator and entertainer to present Motivational Magic assembly programs in schools and communities all across Western Canada. Through the use of magic, juggling, comedy, music and storytelling, Steve delivers meaningful messages that inspire, educate and motivate children and adults.
